The Botanical Garden of the Bastide, is a science-based reserve that offers visitors the chance to experience a wide variety of plants, diversity, nature and sustainable management of natural resources.

The garden is located on the right side of the river in the Bastide quarter, only a 10 min walk from the Blue Lion of Place Stalingrad. Bordeaux has a long history of Botanical Gardens with this location opening in 2003 and becoming the most recent offshoot of the older Jardin botanique de Bordeaux, located across the river.

There are six different spaces in the garden that are all dedicated to different cultures, from large wetland water ponds to calm garden paths lined by exotic plants and trees, the Botanical Garden in the Bastide is a nice place to stroll or find a secluded spot for a secret rendezvous.

The garden is open all year round and is free to the public.
