We love L’Alchimiste and Alchimiste Gintoneria. Both are cocktail bars that sit side by side on possibly the most frequented street of the old town, rue Parlement-St. Pierre.
We’d love to feature both of them in our guide, but we’ve plumped for the Gintoneria because of its focus on… guess what.
If gin isn’t your cup of tea, then you can always head next door to L’Alchimiste where you can get excellent finger food and cocktails. Stepping inside this quaint cocktail bar is like entering the 20s, with a blend of antique furniture, flea market and your granny’s house… Plus, the drinks are amazing!
The Gintoneria is the only one of its kind in Bordeaux, with over 60 gin references.
The interior is simple and rustic, with the famous Bordeaux stone featuring heavily. It’s an intimate spot that’s perfect for small groups.
It’s also a place to experiment with your taste buds and delve into the oft-enjoyed but little-known world of gin.
Did we mention that they have excellent porky tapas and charcuterie platters?
That’s your evening sorted!
LOCAL TIP: Everyone knows that l’Alchimiste is a must for cocktails in Bordeaux and an excellent stop on a date!
