Le Bar à Vin du CIVB (Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux) is a sumptuous yet surprisingly reasonably-priced wine bar.

Modern furniture meets stained glass in this 18th century building just opposite the Grand Theatre. Designed to showcase the various styles of Bordeaux wine, they only sell by the glass.

This isn’t a problem for a very simple reason:

Because the CIVB is considered a school, a glass of amazing wine can be anything between 2 and 8€.

Each wine on the wine list has been specifically selected by their experts, so the chances are that you won’t be disappointed; we never are!

As you’d expect this place fills up in the early evening so it’s advisable to arrive nice and early to avoid disappointment. They don’t take bookings!

This atypical wine bar really is a must for any trip to Bordeaux.
