As suggested by the name of the restaurant, les fils à maman– or “mummy’s boys”, is good old-fashioned French cooking, like at mamma’s house! It’s a family restaurant in the family style!
Traditional French cooking involves hearty meals, dispensing with presentation to concentrate on taste. The menu is presented in three parts:
- “Daddy strips the meat”- lovely beef and steak dishes!
- “The son pays for a banquet”- other traditional French dishes
- “Mum limits the damage”- salads!
There is a touch of humour in everything, from the menu to the decor, including the table setting, all of which revolve around a retro theme of 90’s childhood memories. The stone interior and wooden tables make for a warm welcome.
LOCAL TIP: Try the cordon bleu with Ham from les Landes and a special cheese from the Bordeaux area!
