Rue Notre Dame

A quaint street, full of character

In the heart of a quiet and beautiful residential centre sits this quaint little street.

On first arriving in the street, you may see nothing particular spectacular, but wait for a little longer! Just around the corner, you’ll find some delightful little shops, antiques dealers and an incredible church.

Even if the street may come across as calm, for one weekend in October it comes alive for the New Wine Festival. There’s music, roasted chestnuts, antique stalls and, of course, the new wine!

The church, Eglise Saint Louis, is special for its two spires, which can be seen from far away on the quays. The interior is spectacular too, and well worth a little peek inside.

Don’t be fooled into thinking the church is Eglise Notre Dame, because it isn’t! That particular gem can be found by Place de la Comédie !

Just around the corner from the church is the Place du Marché, where you can find many terraces for some food or drink. The square is normally the most lively place in Chartrons at lunchtime, particularly when the sun is out!
