L’Alchimiste Café Boutique

On a small historic backstreet in Bordeaux lies an alchemist, turning simple beans into… excellent coffee!

One of the pioneers of modern barista culture in Bordeaux, L’Alchimiste both roasts and serves some of the best coffee in the city, and they use fresh milk too!

Settle into their cool interior and stay a while. It’s a hip place with coffee that’ll keep you there a while.

If you’re lucky might get a seat on their little terrace out front! It’s a lovely little street that links two busy thoroughfares.

If you want to see the coffee roasting in action, you can see the mega machine out on the right bank of the Garonne in the magasin général out at Darwin. The place itself is well worth visiting!

LOCAL TIP: On top of amazing coffee, they serve excellent cakes and pastries too!
