The Cock & Bull

The Cock and Bull is one of the oldest English Pubs in Bordeaux, and a classic spot for a drink on a walk around town or on a night out.

The pub has an intimate atmosphere and plenty of tables for a sit down over a pint.

At lunchtime, a they have a nice deal on Starter-Main-Dessert and at night they do great burgers and little sharing baskets.

“The Cock” is big on sport, including the big ones such as football and rugby, but they also are big fans of basketball and American football. The pub is almost always packed on Champions League nights and for French national team matches.

The most popular weekly event is the Monday night quiz, which has a different theme every week. Others include student night on Thursdays and cocktail nights on Fridays, not to mention their daily happy hour from 4pm until 8pm!

As it’s an absolute must for the locals, there’s a nice little side-street terrace.

The bar staff are welcoming and genuinely enthusiastic about the music that they put on.

LOCAL TIP: If you like Pilsner, try their ANCRE PILS, it’s a French Beer made in Alsace (and hard to find elsewhere in the city). Not to mention that you can have a few and it won’t break the bank!
